Practise situations from the working day

I use concrete situations to guide discussions and exercises. Together, we look at what the crew needs to clarify and how the manager can respond.

Fictional scenario

A tradesperson receives an instruction that conflicts with the drawing. Work continues without clarification, and the mistake is found during a check. In the exercise, we look at who needs an answer, who can give it, and who follows up.

Managers and crews practise how to:

explain what is unclear without needing to have the solution
listen fully and find the person who can answer
agree priorities when several tasks are urgent
agree who will report back, and when

How I plan the workshop

I agree the content with your company, based on your working day.

Before the session: We agree which situations to work on and who will attend. We also agree who I should speak with beforehand.
During the session: I lead exercises involving both the manager and the crew. Together, we choose what you want to try at work.
After the session: I agree any follow-up with you. We can then review what you have tried and what needs more work.

No one needs to share private health information during the session.

I’m Stig Magne Evju Brekken. I have served as a safety representative and have over 15 years’ experience as an adviser, mainly in insurance.

I want people to be able to ask for help before they get stuck. That is why the exercises cover both speaking up and how the manager responds. This workshop offer is new.
